FAQ
General
What image should I use?
You can use a standard portrait photo, or a landscape photo, pretty much anything you like.
You’ll get best results when there’s a lot of solid ‘colour’ for the text to float above, so either select a photo that has this ‘solid colour’, or you can simply edit your photo to include this solid colour yourself.
For best results, select an image between 200k to 3 megabytes (although around 400k is probably ideal), with a resolution of 1680 x 1050.
Here are some nice examples of good portrait pictures.

What resolution and file format?
You can use almost all popular image formats, but we recommend you to use JPEG or PNG images.
The system works with a variety of image sizes, but we recommend uploading images around 1680 x 1050 resolution.
I have a question!
Sure. Please get in touch by emailing us at contact@makeleaps.com.
Unfortunately, we’re unable to provide assistance in uploading your vanity page to your site right now. This may be introduced in a future version.
Please let us know though if you encounter a bug, or have a problem, or need any assistance and we’ll do our best to help you.
Beginner Users
So.... I went through and now I have a zip file. Where do I put this?
You’ll need to host this file on your own server.
My own server?
If you’re unsure what this means, unfortunately vanitypagemaker.com may not be useful for you now.
In the future, we’ll have options for us to host your vanity page for you, but right now you will need to do the following to get full benefit from vanitypagemaker.com:
- Register your own domain, such as http://www.jasonwinder.com.
- Organise web hosting for your new domain.
- Generate your Vanity Page
- Unzip the zip file, and upload into the root directory of your domain.
If you have any IT capable friends, perhaps they could give you a hand in exchange for a coffee. Or a friendly compliment about their extensive Star Trek collection.
Technical Users
Can I remove the links back to MakeLeaps?
This is technically possible of course, but we’d really appreciate if you didn’t. Please check the About section for more information.
What files are generated?
You get a bundled zip file with the dynamically generated CSS files, HTML files, images, and font files.
