This site came about for 2 reasons. I was checking domains, and found that jasonwinder.com was available. Brilliant! I registered it in a flash of self-indulgence, and then promptly realised I had no idea what to put on it.

Two weeks before this domain registration at MakeLeaps, we had just finished a week of consulting with Patrick McKenzie (patio11) of bingo card creator fame. He recommended that we create some kind of template or tool that people could use with a link back to MakeLeaps to help build credibility in the SEO landscape.

I started putting these two ideas together. How about a vanity page maker that scratches my own vanity page itch, and also generates nice and clean editable code that links back to MakeLeaps? And vanitypagemaker.com was born.

Of course, because of the open nature of this system and the fact you can edit the code, it’s possible to remove the links at the bottom, however I’d be really grateful if you left them there to help us build our startup. We’ve just recently launched, and we’re really grateful for all the exposure and SEO credibility we can get.
